Only difference is that in the settings, my screen resolution is at 1920x1080 and his is stuck at the 1536x864, but both are running the borderless window and are popping up full screen like they should at great resolution. Check taskmanager to see if its running from the background. I've verified all the files through both accounts and Steam had to add a few files when I verified on my brother's account even though I was the one who downloaded it to my account, but then everything looks the same. Trying to launch a new game will result in it asking if I want to start exploring Enderal, but then it'll freeze and nothing happens. It'll say the name of my character from Skyrim, say her race as what I chose for Enderal, then give my Skyrim character's level but then with the date of, again, my Enderal saves. Clicking on the load will bring up all of my Skyrim saves - all of my saves from my Steam account, not my brother's account - but they're all mashed and intermingled with my actual Enderal saves - again, from my Steam account.
It'll bring up the Skyrim main menu with the Enderal options on the left of the screen.
When everything looks good, the way it should, and I launch the game, it will only launch Skyrim instead. When I launch Enderal, the launcher tells me that some of my computer settings may not be optimized for this game and that I should adjust some settings in the optimization tab of the settings. The issues come when I log into my brother's account on the same computer - the actual computer account, not just logging into his account on Steam from my computer account. The game needed to be fullscreen, and without OneTweak, for it to work.įinally, the performances with base wine are OK but not excellent using wine-staging and enabling CSMT makes the performances great (with no detected issue thus far).I'm prefacing this by saying that it launches fine for me on my computer, no issues. It may also be required to disable OneTweak's fake "fullscreen" mode in the Enderal Launcher config and in general, running the game in windowed mode did not work for me due to graphical corruption. It was also necessary to override d3dx9_42 to native for the game to work properly (large amount of missing textures without it) this is also necessary in the base Skyrim game with HD textures. Since version 1.0.3, the Enderal Launcher will not run if the name of the directory skyrim is installed in is not "Skyrim" (will complain about not finding TESV.exe) this is a launcher bug (currently being fixed) and can be "fixed" by renaming the directory, launching the launcher for updates and config, and renaming the directory again to its previous name before playing (running skse_loader.exe directly).

If you had any prior version of dotnet in your wineprefix or if you interrupted the dotnet45 install, the winetricks install will fail in that case, either use a new clean wineprefix or manually download the dotnet 4.5 installer and run it yourself. To make sure the Enderal Launcher works, you'll need to winetricks dotnet45.

This is likely related to SKSE/the mod and Skyrim in general, not wine, as such crashes appear to occur on Windows systems as well. There are a few skyrim crashes sometimes, once every few hours. Running windowed (including running the fake "fullscreen" mode of SKSE's OneTweak module had to be disabled): the game window only displays what looks like random video memory. Basically everything (~20 hours in game and no issue thus far) if running fullscreen.
